Brick is one of the important element in the construction of the building. While choosing between fly ash brick and normal red brick you must know the difference between fly ash brick and normal red brick. First, we need to study what is fly ash brick.
What is the difference between fly ash brick and normal red bricks?
1)Fly Ash Brick
These bricks are manufacturing by mixing Quarry Dust / River Sand, Stone aggregates less than 6mm in Size, Cement and Fly Ash ( Fly Ash quantity will be 10% to 20% of Cement ). Normally the actual cement quantity required will be replaced with 10% to 20% Fly Ash. Any brick contains cement will increase the heat inside the building. Fly Ash Bricks with plastering on both sides will again increase more Heat. When we are manufacturing One Metric Ton of Cement equal quantity of CO2 ( Carbon di Oxide ) will also get generated. So we are polluting the atmosphere.
(2) Country made Red Bricks.
As this bricks are made out of Clay / Soil it will not increase the heat inside buildings These bricks are available in size of 200 mm x 100 mm x 65 mm & 200 mm x 100 mm x 75 mm and will consume more cement for construction of a wall. Any brick like Fly Ash Brick / Bud Bricks will consume 65kg Cement for Construction of One Cubic Meter of Wall if we are using bricks of above-mentioned size. Only minus point of this country made bricks are wastage while shifting as the strength is less. So it is better to Use Table Moulded Bricks / Factory made Red Bricks. The strength of this bricks will be a maximum of 35kg/sqcm.
( 3) Factory made Red Bricks.
By using these bricks we can reduce the cement consumption to 50% in the construction of a wall. For these bricks, no need for Plastering& Painting on both Inside and Outside of Buildings as these bricks are having a Strength of 75kh/Sq Cm. It will cost only Rs 3/= to Rs 4/= more than a country made red bricks.
So these are the difference between fly ash brick and normal red bricks.
