What is Sunken slab and its Advantages?

Especially in commercial buildings, sunken slabs may be required on ground floors or podium areas. By using ABS Disposable Formworks, these areas can be brought to the required height as in the architectural plans. The solution is the lightest and most practical one of leveling such differences.

Particularly in multiuse projects, different parts of the buildings may not level on a common floor. As a solution, the lower ‘sunken slab’ has to be raised to the more dominant slab’s height. Constructing a reinforced concrete raised floor by using ABS Disposable Formworks, is one of the most lightweight and practical solutions for this problem. ABS Disposable Formworks ensure not only a lightweight, fast and economical solution, but also add normally lost space to the useful area of the structure by allowing MEP installations to pass through the void space.

Sunken slabs are also used in wet areas where plumbing installations have to be passed to the below or adjacent areas. Depending on the total sunken slab area in any given project ABS Disposable Formworks can be considered to fill these areas after installations have passed through.
