What is the cost of steel per ton in the Indian market?
The cost of steel depends on two major factors, steel type (TMT, HYSD, etc.) and site location. In India, this cost lies between Rs. 40,000/- to Rs. 50,000/- per ton from seller to seller. I was recently going through a billing register my dad (who also happens to be a civil engineer) was working on. We then discussed the steel brands generally used by Railway engineers (since he works in Indian Railways), total steel cost, the differences in the different products and some other stuff. Later I decided to do some research myself and found out this:
