How to calculate the weight of steel bars used in construction?
To calculate the weight used for steel bats, If you know the formula for unit weight of the steel bar then it is very easy to calculate the weight for different diameter of bars. The formula for calculating the weight of steel bars is given below.
W= D^2/162.2 (kg/m)
Below are some examples
-Diameter of bar = 16 mm
w = (16^2)/162.2 = 256/162.2 = 1.5782 kg/m
let’s assume the length of the bar as 5 m
then, w = 1.5782 x 5 =7.8914 kg
similarly, you can calculate for varies diameter of the bars.
